VEKA AG partners with VMware and comdivision to standardize global device management, improving IT efficiency and supporting rapid growth across 40 international sites.

PRESS RELEASE:

VEKA AG, the global market leader in PVC window profiles, has successfully transformed its mobile infrastructure by deploying VMware Workspace ONE to support its 6,000 employees worldwide. This strategic implementation unifies device management across VEKA’s 40 international sites, enabling the manufacturer to streamline IT operations and rapidly integrate new acquisitions into its corporate network.

Unifying a Complex Global Infrastructure

Operating across four continents with a mix of centralized data centers in Germany and North America, VEKA faced increasing complexity in managing its IT assets. The company required a solution to replace its legacy system, SAP Afaria, which had been discontinued. The IT department sought a modern platform capable of handling diverse business demands-from manufacturing plants to sales offices-while ensuring consistency and security across a growing fleet of mobile devices.

The primary challenge for VEKA was harmonizing these disparate environments to optimize core processes. As the company pursues a strategy of growth through acquisition, the ability to scale IT resources quickly became a critical operational requirement. The distinct needs of different markets, such as varying requirements between China and Germany, necessitated a flexible platform that could standardize management without sacrificing local functionality.

“We need to standardize as much as possible to harmonize our environments and fulfill business requests with our existing resources. VMware acts as a strategic partner, running our core processes and enabling us to maintain our position as the partner of choice in our industry.”

Rapid Deployment and Operational Efficiency

To ensure a seamless transition, VEKA collaborated with comdivision, a long-standing VMware partner. The implementation focused on replacing the legacy infrastructure with a unified digital workspace. Leveraging comdivision’s expertise, VEKA completed the initial environment setup in just two weeks. This rapid deployment allowed the IT team to begin enrolling devices immediately, minimizing downtime and accelerating time-to-value.

Currently, VEKA manages approximately 1,000 devices globally, including iOS, macOS, tvOS, and Android units, as well as specialized warehouse scanners. The shift to Workspace ONE has yielded immediate improvements in IT efficiency. Tasks that previously required lengthy support calls, such as diagnosing Wi-Fi connectivity issues, can now be resolved in minutes through the platform’s transparent remote management capabilities. This visibility has significantly reduced the administrative burden on the IT staff.

“The efficiency of Workspace ONE allows us to solve connectivity issues in minutes rather than hours, freeing up IT resources to focus on user support. We can now easily manage a variety of platforms from a single console, ensuring our colleagues get the most out of their devices.”
